I just love the Harlo. It opened in 1948 (joining the other theater in town, the State). Today it is owned and run by the Harlowton Public Schools. According to them, “students run most all parts of the Harlo Movie Theater from ticket sales, advertising, scheduling, cleaning, concessions, and customer service. It is a good entry into the world of work and students may begin working at the movie theater in 7th grade. They are paid through a scholarship that they receive when they graduate from high school based on the number of hours they served.”
