The Colonial opened the day the Titanic set sail in 1912. A hundred and eleven years later the Titanic is a memory, but the Colonial survives. In the Fall of 2022 its long-time owners put it up for sale, but in April of 2023 a non-profit, Save Our Colonial Theater, announced itself and its intention to turn Belfast’s “iconic landmark into a thriving nonprofit community center for entertainment and education.” Things are looking up for the Colonial!
