Foster Theater
Youngstown, Ohio

The Foster opened in 1939, seating 800, including my eleven -year-old mother, who lived two blocks away. This was her local theater. By the 1970s the Foster, like Youngstown, had declined significantly. In 2021 the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation purchased the property; it plans to repurpose the building for apartments and retail space.
